Tajikistan with its capital Dushanbe is a country in Asia (Central Asia), slightly smaller than Wisconsin (143,100 km²). The country is located Central Asia, west of China, south of Kyrgyzstan. The climate can be described as midlatitude continental, hot summers, mild winters; semiarid to polar in Pamir Mountains.
